Travel good on Southwest Airlines published, scheduled service. Travel is subject to the government-imposed September 11th Security Fee of up to $10 per roundtrip. All Rapid Rewards rules and regulations apply.

1 Bonus Credits

You will qualify for and receive 8 bonus credits after your first purchase/first use of the card. First purchase/first use includes purchases, balance transfers, or any checks that are used to access your account, and excludes cash advances. One bonus credit will also be credited to your Rapid Rewards account for each $1,200 in balance transfers within the first 90 days from account opening, up to a maximum of 8 credits (or $9,600). Balance transfers are subject to a fee of 3% of the amount transferred with a minimum of $5. For pricing details, please see Pricing & Terms. Southwest Airlines will issue a free roundtrip flight for every 16 Rapid Rewards credits accumulated during any consecutive 24-month period. Please allow 6 to 8 weeks for bonus credits to post to your Rapid Rewards account. This bonus offer is valid only for first-time Southwest Airlines personal Cardmembers with new accounts. Existing Southwest Airlines personal Cardmembers/accounts are not eligible for this bonus offer.

2 Earning Reward Dollars

You will earn 2 Reward Dollars for each $1 of net purchases made directly with Southwest Airlines, including: flight, in-flight, southwestgiftcard, and Southwest Airlines Vacations package purchases. You will earn 2 Reward Dollars for each $1 of net purchases at participating Southwest Airlines Rapid Rewards Preferred Hotel and Rental Car Partners. You will earn 1 Reward Dollar for each $1 of all other net purchases. Each year, you will receive 2,400 Reward Dollars (2 Rapid Rewards credits) after your Anniversary. ("Anniversary" means the year beginning with the date of your account opening through the first statement after the anniversary of the date of your account opening, and each 12 months thereafter.) Once you earn 1,200 Reward Dollars, you will receive 1 Southwest Airlines Rapid Rewards credit. You do not earn Reward Dollars on balance transfers after the first 90 days from account opening, cash advances, any checks that are used to access your account, travelers checks, overdraft advances, interest, unauthorized or fraudulent charges, or fees of any kind, including fees for products that protect or insure the balances of your account. 3 Earning Free Flights 20% Faster

With most other major airline branded cards, you will need to make at least $25,000 in purchases that earn one point/mile per $1 (“everyday purchases”) to earn enough standard rewards to qualify for an award flight. With the Southwest Airlines Rapid Rewards Visa card you can earn the 16 Rapid Rewards Credits needed for a free flight by making only $19,200 in everyday purchases. You will earn 1 Reward Dollar for each $1 of everyday purchases and once you earn 1,200 Reward Dollars you will receive 1 Rapid Rewards credit. Southwest Airlines will issue a free roundtrip flight for every 16 Rapid Rewards credits accumulated during any consecutive 24-month period. ($19,200 in everyday purchases = 19,200 Rapid Rewards Dollars = 16 Rapid Rewards Credits = one free roundtrip flight).
